Survival is Hard is the second book in the Second Chances Series by Letty Frame. It’s a fantasy, paranormal, dark, reverse harem/why choose romance. This book deals with a lot of trauma and mental health issues. Please read the content/trigger warnings before reading.

Nora’s struggle with her mental health came to a head and now she must deal with the consequences of her dire actions. The wolf she believed she lost is ultimately who saved her, which brings her a whole new set of problems. Lots of therapy and truly amazing support from her six mates, gives Nora the will to live. Nora and her mates also still have to deal with the hunters and other new challenges.

The emotional roller coaster continues. Again I love the way the author gives such an authentic depiction of depression and the continuing struggle when trying to get better. The way Nora’s mates support her is pretty ideal to how it should happen in real life as well. This book did have a big twist that took me by surprise and I can’t say I was unhappy about it. We finally get some spice at the end of this book and it was well worth the wait. I can’t wait to read the final book in this series.
